Valencia claimed a convincing road win with a score of 91-85 over Girona in Round 32 of the Liga Endesa.
With this result, Pedro Martinez’s squad continues its push for the second spot in the standings, as second-placed Tenerife holds just one more win.
Although Valencia entered the matchup as the heavy favorite, they struggled to break Girona’s resistance throughout most of the game. It wasn’t until the beginning of the fourth quarter that Valencia managed to open up a double-digit lead—a stretch that proved decisive, as they maintained control until the final buzzer to secure a well-earned victory.
Brancou Badio led Valencia with 17 points, while Jean Montero added 16. For Girona, Josep Busquets was the top scorer with 21 points.
Valencia now sits in third place with a 23-9 record and will visit Tenerife in the next round. Girona, currently 16th with a 11-21 record, will travel to face Barcelona next weekend.
- Alba Berlin will play in the FIBA Champions League starting next season
