Zalgiris have officially confirmed that their roster for the 2026-27 season is complete, bringing an end to a busy summer that saw the Lithuanian champions make several major changes.
The Kaunas-based club are entering the new campaign after one of their strongest seasons in recent years. Zalgiris reached the EuroLeague playoffs, where they were eliminated by Fenerbahce following a 3-1 series defeat.
Despite falling short in Europe, Zalgiris enjoyed a highly successful domestic campaign, winning both the Lithuanian League and the Lithuanian Cup.
However, the club were forced to reshape their roster after losing several important players.
Sylvain Francisco and Moses Wright leave Zalgiris
Two of Zalgiris’ most influential players from last season will not return.
Sylvain Francisco left the Lithuanian champions to join Panathinaikos, while Moses Wright continued his career with Milano.
The departures of Francisco and Wright represented significant losses for Zalgiris, considering the impact both players had during the club’s EuroLeague playoff run.
The team also parted ways with Ignas Brazdeikis, Laurynas Birutis and Mantas Rubstavicius, creating space for a new group of players.
Jonas Valanciunas headlines major Zalgiris additions
Zalgiris responded by completing an ambitious recruitment campaign.
The most prominent addition is Lithuanian star Jonas Valanciunas, who arrives from the Denver Nuggets and brings extensive NBA experience to the club.
Carsen Edwards has also joined Zalgiris after playing for Virtus, while Sterling Brown arrived following his departure from Partizan.
The club further strengthened its backcourt by signing Saben Lee from Anadolu Efes.
Marek Blazevic joined from Tofas, while Marius Grigonis returned to Lithuania after leaving Panathinaikos.
Zalgiris also added Kaodirichi Akobundu-Ehiogu from Cedevita Olimpija.
Maxwell Lewis signed with the Lithuanian club after playing for Juventus, although he was immediately sent on loan to London Lions.
With several experienced EuroLeague players joining the team, Zalgiris have assembled a new-look roster capable of competing at the highest level.
Tomas Masiulis remains head coach
Zalgiris will continue under the leadership of head coach Tomas Masiulis.
After guiding the club to the EuroLeague playoffs and completing a domestic double, Masiulis will remain in charge as Zalgiris begin the next phase of their project.
The Lithuanian champions have replaced several key players while adding proven experience and depth across the roster.
