According to BasketNews, Zalgiris are prepared to offer the biggest contract in club history in order to keep Lithuanian forward Azuolas Tubelis.
Tubelis has been one of the standout performers for Zalgiris this season. In the EuroLeague, he averaged 12.1 points and 4.5 rebounds per game, attracting significant interest from other clubs.
Reports say the Lithuanian giants have offered their homegrown player a three-year contract extension, which would reportedly include an NBA exit clause next summer. If he signs the new deal, Tubelis would become the highest-paid player in Zalgiris history.
At the same time, the Kaunas club is also trying to keep Sylvain Francisco, who has received lucrative offers from other EuroLeague teams and may be difficult to retain.
Zalgiris also appear unwilling to accept a €1 million buyout for Tubelis, believing the 24-year-old has already shown the level of talent and potential he possesses.
