Zalgiris vs Lietkabelis Preview
Zalgiris continues to dominate domestic competitions and, as things currently stand, is on course to reach the final with only one defeat. After finishing the regular season with just a single loss, which came against Lietkabelis, Zalgiris has also looked highly dominant in the playoffs. When four victories in the Lithuanian Cup are added to that record, the extent of their domestic dominance becomes even more impressive. The team has played forty games in domestic competitions this season and has won thirty nine of them. Considering their current form and the likelihood that Juventus will be their opponent in the final, very few people would be surprised if Zalgiris finishes the season with only one defeat. However, they must first complete the job against Lietkabelis, and their two nil lead in the series clearly shows how close they are to another finals appearance.
Game two was won even more comfortably than game one. Early in the second half, the lead had already reached double digits, and during the third quarter it grew to as many as twenty points. Those details best illustrate how confidently and dominantly Zalgiris performed on the road. The difference in quality between the two teams is obvious, and when the motivation level of the Zalgiris players is at its highest, especially in the most important games of the season, Lietkabelis simply does not have enough quality to compete. In game two, Sylvain Francisco delivered his best domestic league performance of the season, scoring twenty seven points and posting an efficiency rating of thirty one. He was followed by Azuolas Tubelis with twenty four points. Although some fans questioned his arrival at the beginning of the season, it is fair to say that signing Tubelis has proven to be an excellent move by the club. The talented power forward recently signed a contract extension, making it clear that he sees his future in Kaunas. Edgaras Ulanovas also reached double figures with thirteen points. There is little doubt that Zalgiris will do everything possible to finish the series in this game and gain extra time to prepare for the final.
Lietkabelis has not had a particularly successful season, but that was somewhat expected. When several of the key players from the previous campaign leave the club and their departures are not adequately replaced with quality additions, a decline in results is almost inevitable. In the EuroCup, they once again struggled to remain competitive and were among the weaker teams in the competition. Still, they managed to defeat Siauliai in the quarterfinal round of the domestic playoffs and secure a place in the semifinals. Unfortunately for them, they were matched up against Zalgiris, and it now appears likely that their season could come to an end in this game. In the first two meetings against the defending Lithuanian champions, they were unable to seriously challenge their opponent, and both defeats were comfortable and convincing, especially the second game played in front of their home crowd.
Unlike game one, when they managed to stay competitive for most of the matchup, Lietkabelis was able to keep pace with its opponent for a much shorter period in game two. They quickly found themselves facing a large deficit that proved impossible to overcome. Head coach Nenad Canak tried everything to spark his team and was even ejected during the third quarter. However, he was unable to energize his players because the gap in quality between the two teams is simply too large, and it would take something close to a miracle for Zalgiris to lose a domestic league game. As expected, Jamel Morris and Kristian Kullamae were the leading scorers for Lietkabelis with fifteen and fourteen points respectively. Besides them, only Paulius Danusevicius reached double figures, but that was nowhere near enough to challenge the best team in the country. If Lietkabelis wants to have any chance of winning, every player on the roster will need to perform at the highest possible level, while at the same time Zalgiris would have to deliver a below average performance. In game two, Zalgiris completely dominated the rebounding battle, collecting sixteen offensive rebounds, while Lietkabelis managed only nineteen defensive rebounds. That imbalance on the boards cannot happen again in game three if Lietkabelis hopes to stay alive in the series.
Zalgiris vs Lietkabelis H2H
Zalgiris lead the series 2-0, with the series being played in a best-of-five format. Zalgiris have won 18 of the last 19 head-to-head meetings between these two teams. This season, they played four games during the regular season, with Zalgiris winning three times, while Lietkabelis recorded one victory.
Injuries and Suspensions
Trey Drechsel has missed almost the entire season for Lietkabelis.

Zalgiris vs Lietkabelis Best Betting Tip and Prediction
Everything is in Zalgiris’ favor in this matchup, and we fully expect them to secure a victory and advance to the domestic league final. Simply put, they have the stronger roster, home court advantage, and the support of their fans, all of which clearly work in their favor. We expect Zalgiris to settle the outcome of the game by the end of the third quarter, which could allow players with smaller roles and limited minutes to see more action in the final period. In such a scenario, the defensive intensity is likely to decrease, giving Lietkabelis a chance to approach the eighty point mark. Combined with what should be another strong offensive performance from Zalgiris, we believe the game will finish with more total points than the proposed margin.
