The Milwaukee Bucks surprised many last season with an unexpected mid-season coaching change.
Despite holding a strong 30-13 record, the team moved on from Adrian Griffin and brought in Doc Rivers. However, under Rivers’ leadership, the Bucks’ performance dipped, ending the season with a 17-19 record.
Now, with a full season ahead, Rivers has the opportunity to make his mark on the team. NBA insiders predict substantial changes to the roster surrounding star players Giannis Antetokounmpo and Damian Lillard.
“There are whispers that Doc Rivers is eyeing modifications to some core players—not Giannis or Dame, but possibly others. I anticipate the Bucks being active in the trade market soon. While they might not make as dramatic moves as Philadelphia or New York, keep an eye on Milwaukee,” reported Brian Windhorst.
Jake Fischer from Yahoo echoed Windhorst’s sentiments and provided further insights. Fischer mentioned that Brook Lopez, a fan favorite, could be a significant player on the move.
“According to league sources, the Milwaukee Bucks are open to restructuring their team and are exploring trade options for Brook Lopez. Sources indicate that Houston warned Lopez that re-signing with Milwaukee might lead to a trade, a point raised during Houston’s free agency pursuit of Lopez last year,” Fischer stated.
