Bayern played a decent first half against Real, who this season, except for the match in Istanbul against Fenerbahce, left the court with bowed heads. The guests held a four-point lead at the end of the first quarter, 23:19.
Then, in the second quarter, the home team stepped up their game. They first controlled the rebounds and then started hitting shots, turning the score around. At halftime, they led 42:37. The turnaround was orchestrated by veterans Sergio Llull, who made a couple of tough shots, and Sergio Rodriguez. After the first 20 minutes of play, nine Real players had scored, with only five team assists.
At the start of the second half, after points from Mario Hezonja and Dzanan Musa, the home team reached a double-digit lead of 51:41. The Croatian basketball player played exceptionally well in the third quarter, and after his new three-pointer, the home team achieved their largest lead of 57:45.
However, this lead didn’t shake the visitors, who managed to close the gap to 63:57 by the end of the quarter.
At the beginning of the fourth quarter, Real once again reached their largest lead of 77:59 after a 14:2 run. The home team comfortably maintained this lead until the end, securing another win.
