Maccabi Tel Aviv has secured a valuable win in the battle for the Euroleague playoffs. Oded Kattash’s team outplayed Alba Berlin on the road with a score of 106-71.
Right from the start, it was clear that Alba Berlin wouldn’t be able to game their opponent. The visitors gained an eight-point advantage midway through the first quarter. By the end of the first period, they further extended their lead to 12 points.
The guests opened the second quarter with a 14-3 run, thus stretching their lead to 23 points. Until the end of the first half, the Israeli champions maintained their lead, going into halftime with a 19-point advantage.
In the second half, there wasn’t much suspense in terms of the result. Maccabi Tel Aviv’s team held onto the lead established in the first half. The visitors didn’t relent until the very end, securing a convincing triumph.
James Webb led the visitors to win with 17 points, while Johannes Thiemann scored 16 on the other side.
Alba Berlin suffered their 22nd loss of the season, and their next game will be an away game against Baskonia. This marks Maccabi Tel Aviv’s 14th triumph of the season. Their next opponent will be Zalgiris.
