In the third period, Kurucs and Dustin Sleva led Murcia. The visitors thrived on their three-point shooting, hitting 5 of 7 in the quarter, which brought them to a manageable 57:52 deficit heading into the final ten minutes. Rudy Fernandez hit two consecutive three-pointers to give the home team a new double-digit lead (at that point, he was 3/3 from beyond the arc). Despite Murcia’s attempts to close the gap and create a suspenseful finish, they were unsuccessful.
The top scorer for Real Madrid was Rudy Fernandez with 14 points, Dzanan Musa contributed with 13 points and five assists, and Mario Hezonja added ten points. For Murcia, the top scorers were Dustin Sleva with 12 points and Rodions Kurucs with 11 points.
The next game is scheduled for Wednesday at 8:30 PM at the Palacio de Deportes de Murcia. Last season, Barcelona swept Real Madrid 3-0 in the final.
