Golden State Warriors head coach Steve Kerr spoke about his recently deceased colleague, Dejan Milojevic.
Steve Kerr brought Milojevic into the coaching staff, and the Serbian strategist was one of his most trusted collaborators.
“Heartbreaking and devastating. This is the toughest thing I’ve been a part of in the NBA. It’s hard to put into words this week for us. We lost someone so close to us. And more importantly, it’s hardest to see his family suffer. This past week, these last five days, have been filled with shock, emotions, and a tremendous outpouring of love,” emphasized Kerr.
He then touched upon the game in which Partizan hosted Mega, a game dedicated to Milojevic.
“I don’t know if you saw the event in Serbia, two teams he was associated with, Mega, which he coached, and Partizan, the team where he was a star. I don’t think I’ve ever seen such a dedication before a game. We watched it as a team. We gained a better understanding of what Dejan meant to his compatriots. Of course, he meant a lot to us as well, to Natasa, Masa, and Nikola… This has been devastating for us,” concluded Kerr.
