Paolo Banchero has expressed his expectations ahead of the FIBA World Cup quarterfinal where the USA is set to face Italy.
The American basketball player scouted the “Azzurri” during their game against Serbia, which gave him a clear vision of what Gianmarco Pozzecco has planned with his national team.
“Italians are very skilled, very precise, and in their running game, they have their own set… And they play very tough. Both teams (Serbia and Italy) are pretty good, they played a great game. I had the opportunity to watch it; I saw how Italy came back and won in the last minutes. It was impressive. These are excellent teams, both deserve to be where they are,” Paolo Banchero stated.

Lithuania’s victory over the USA team has sent Kazys Maksvytis’ squad to face Serbia in the quarterfinals. On this occasion, Banchero offered some advice to “The Eagles.”
“I think they’ve done scouting for sure, but I would advise them to guard the three-point line well. They are excellent shooters, and they can also protect the ball.”
The Lithuanian basketball team provided the biggest sensation of the 2023 FIBA World Championship so far, defeating the USA team with a score of 110:104.
In the quarterfinals, Lithuania will face the Serbian national team, while the USA will be up against Italy’s Pozzeco team.
