Adam Hanga, player of Crvena Zvezda, spoke to Meridian Sport ahead of his team’s visit to Monaco in the EuroLeague.
The Hungarian international is aware of the quality of Crvena Zvezda’s opponents. Monaco is currently in the best form in the EuroLeague with six consecutive wins.
“Obviously, we’re playing against a team that has a lot of offensive talent. They have many different scorers who create their own shots and also create for others. We all know that Mike James is the top scorer in the EuroLeague.
So, it will be a very tough game for us. On the other hand, they are a team that has many ups and downs during the game. They often lack consistency. That’s why we need to fight until the end and try to improve our game,” Adam Hanga began.
About the previous two games of Crvena Zvezda
“In Munich, we weren’t so bad defensively, but we fell short offensively. We tried to correct the mistakes in Bar. Of course, it was a higher level, but we were definitely better. We want to continue playing at a good rhythm.”
Mike James and his qualities
“I am very good friends with James. Obviously, the record is his focus, as perhaps Monaco’s, but our focus is completely different. Of course, it’s a big deal, we know it will be a historic night if it happens, and our job is to make it as difficult as possible for him. We are focused on ourselves and how to improve our game on as many levels as possible.”
About the results and motivation
“I don’t think it’s the point to talk about it or give forecasts of what will happen. Even if we win all the games until the end, our fate is in the hands of others. But our obligation to the fans, as well as to ourselves, is to approach every game at the highest level. Our goal, as I said, is to elevate our level of play because the start of the ABA League playoffs is approaching, and that’s why we want to use every EuroLeague game to become better and more prepared for the end of the season when trophies are at stake.”
About signing for Crvena Zvezda
“It’s quite different from other experiences, especially since I spent 12 years in Spain. Consequently, it’s definitely a new experience, but what I would emphasize – I have never regretted signing for Crvena Zvezda for a moment. I already have many memories, games in front of our fans will forever be etched in my memory, and this journey feels unforgettable.
Thanks to our fans who always push us. I am overjoyed that we won the Cup, and I am very proud of what we achieved. The EuroLeague didn’t go as we imagined, but what I know is that we will fight until the end. Who knows what might happen, but we want to secure our future by winning the ABA League title and then try to be better next season,” concluded Adam Hanga, whose contract with the red and whites expires at the end of the next season.
