Adam Hanga, the new player for Crvena zvezda, spoke to “Meridian Sport” about his new engagement, Dusko Ivanovic, and his new teammate, Milos Teodosic.
The Hungarian international arrived at Mali Kalemegdan from Real Madrid. Last season, he was the EuroLeague champion with the Madrid team and did not hide his desire to continue his career in the EuroLeague, despite being 34 years old.
“It was very important for me to continue my career in the EuroLeague. There were some talks, but the only concrete offer on the table came from Crvena zvezda. We quickly and easily reached an agreement. One evening, or more precisely after midnight, I talked to Dusko, and the very next morning, I signed the contract. There was no doubt; Crvena zvezda had a concrete offer. I am extremely happy to have stayed in the EuroLeague and signed with a club with such history and tradition. It’s already magical,” Hanga began.
Hanga and coach Dusko Ivanovic have known each other for a long time. They have met several times in the ACB league and the EuroLeague, and the former Defensive Player of the Year had kind words for his new coach.
“I know him very well, and I was familiar with his work. During my career, I have worked with many coaches from this region. Serbian and Balkan coaches have had a significant influence on Hungarian basketball. Our national team coach is from Montenegro, so I am well acquainted with this region,” the 34-year-old from Budapest began, continuing:
“I knew that Dusko is the kind of coach who will instill a lot of self-confidence in you if you give your all for the team. He looks for players who will give 100 percent in both directions, and the rest will come during the process. He knows me very well; we have played against each other many times, and now I am looking forward to working with him.”
Milos Teodosic as a new teammate
Teodosic is like Hanga, a new player for the red and whites, and the Hungarian international didn’t hide his excitement about finally playing alongside the Serbian ace.
“I don’t know if he was the toughest opponent, but Milos is one of those players who will do something you least expect. That’s why he’s amazing. With ‘dry’ scorers, you know what they’ll do, but with Milos, the situation is different. He can always make a pass behind the back, through the legs, take a shot, or do something completely different. I think he will be the guy who takes responsibility in key moments and adds extra quality,” Hanga concluded.
