AEK has defeated Maroussi at home after a thrilling finish by 88:85, in the context of the Greek league’s 23rd round.
The visiting team had a better start, leading by +7 after the first ten minutes of play (20:13). However, the Athens-based team responded strongly in the second quarter, improving their offense and winning that period by 28:19. It wasn’t until midway through the fourth quarter that Maroussi managed to overturn the deficit and take the lead at 79:77. Nevertheless, AEK thwarted their comeback attempt with a 10:0 run and ultimately emerged victorious.
The home team was led to win by Mindaugas Kuzminskas with 21 points and 10 rebounds, while Chasson Randle contributed 16 points and Jordan McRae added 15 points. In Maroussi’s team, the top performer was Charis Giannopoulos with 13 points, while Isaiah Briscoe contributed 13 points. Shakur Juiston also had a solid performance with 12 points and 10 rebounds.
Following this game, AEK is in seventh place with a record of 10 wins and 13 losses, while Maroussi is in 11th place with 7 wins and 16 losses.
