Alba Berlin secured their fifth win of the season in the sixth round of the Bundesliga by defeating Tübingen by 97-81 on the road.
Although the opponent put up a worthy fight in the first half, resulting in a tied score after 20 minutes of play, the team from the German capital created the largest difference in the third quarter, paving the way for a convincing victory.
Coach Israel Gonzalez has more than one reason to be pleased. Besides his team winning for the fourth time in the last five games on all fronts, Yanni Wetzell and Christ Koumadje are in good form after their injuries.
The first of them scored 14 points, as did Koumadje, who added 10 rebounds for a double-double performance. Justin Bean led the team from the shadows with 15 points, while on the opposing side, Mateo Seric outperformed his teammates with 21 points.
Alba, along with Ulm, Oldenburg, and Chemnitz, has a 5-1 record, while Munich’s Bayern is behind this quartet with four wins and two losses.
In the next round of the Bundesliga, Alba Berlin will play against Braunschweig at home, while Tubingen will host Chemnitz.
