Aleksa Avramovic spoke during Partizan’s media day, sharing his expectations for the upcoming competitive season that is set to kick off soon.
Today, Partizan organized its media day, and one of the players who addressed the occasion was Aleksa Avramovic.
“After a long period of preparations and the World Cup, we are entering a new season with Partizan. We had these preparatory matches to get ready for Mornar. Today has been a tough day as we’ve had training sessions. Tomorrow, we’ll have an even more intense training session to prepare tactically and physically as best as we can. We will also have time for individual work to ensure we are well-prepared for Mornar and the subsequent games.”
Avramovic was one of the driving forces behind the Serbian national team’s performance at the World Cup.
“There is always motivation and energy, but after the success at the World Cup, there was some emotional exhaustion. I’ve already mentally shifted gears to the new season, preparing to do what is expected of me to help the team achieve its goals.“
The Partizan basketball player tried to draw a parallel between the previous and upcoming seasons.
“Last season, we were on the verge of the Final Four. In a season where we were expected to stabilize ourselves in Europe, we achieved instant results and finished sixth in the regular season. In the playoffs, we played five games against the eventual European champions. We know everything that happened there, the tension, injuries, and ‘that’ incident we won’t talk about.
We won the ABA League, and now the goal is to go after that trophy again because it secures a spot in the EuroLeague. This season will be tougher than the previous one because it’s harder to defend something than to win it initially. We have more players on the team, hopefully even more will join, and we are highly motivated.“
The native of Cacak commented on the players who have strengthened Partizan this summer.
“I’ve gotten to know my new teammates both on and off the court. The team looks promising, but there’s a lot of work ahead to make everything function perfectly. These are new personalities, a new coach for them, and a different system. We’ve been together for three years now, and we’re here to help them adapt to the new environment as quickly as possible.“
“Partizan is a brand in Europe.”
The Serbian national team member also touched upon the significant interest from fans in season tickets.
“Partizan is a big brand in Europe. People from all over the world come to watch the black and white, creating a great atmosphere and a wonderful sports story. We can’t wait to play in a packed Arena, and I hope the EuroLeague games will have a full house, just like in the ABA League, where we’ll also need a full arena.”
