Aleksandar Grujin has addressed the situation and clarified how the entire matter regarding Game 2 of the Serbian Super League will be resolved.
We present the full statement from the director of the Serbian League:
“There is no reason to doubt anything. The only authorities are the chief referee and the delegate. All the information you are receiving comes from the chief referee and the delegate. As for what the announcer did, I have no explanation for that, you would have to ask him,” said Aleksandar Grujin, and added:
“Whether on his own or with someone’s consent, that should not have happened as it was to Partizan’s detriment. I have been in communication with the delegate the entire time and I know what is happening, with Mr. Stojanovic. Everything that was done, was done in accordance with the regulations.”
“The game will be recorded based on the delegate’s report, with an official result of 20:0 to Crvena Zvezda.”
Trophy to Crvena Zvezda?
“In agreement with Crvena Zvezda, the trophy and medals will be awarded in the coming days.”
Did delegate Stojanovic explain to the teams whether the match would continue tonight or tomorrow?
“Mr. Stojanovic, as the delegate, had communication with both clubs. Throughout my communication with him, he was in talks with the officials of both clubs.”
So, he was informing both sides about what exactly was happening?
“That is his obligation.”
“On one side, there is verbal misconduct, on the other something else. Everyone saw what was thrown onto the court, and everyone heard everything. I strongly condemn any insults, whether towards the President of the country—you can love him or not, but you must respect him, especially as someone who has given so much to basketball, especially to the eternal rivals, and also to wives, mothers, and others…
There is a rule that if this occurs, the first time the fans are warned, the second time as well, and the third time the whistle is removed, and the referees go to the locker room, and the stands are emptied.”
