Alen Smailagic had some serious predictions last season, and the center is now announcing an attack on the EuroLeague trophy.
The former Golden State Warriors player is having a great season. Alen Smailagic was the best when it was most needed. However, bad luck struck him during the summer, as he contracted a virus that caused him to lose a lot of weight. As he himself points out, he is working hard to get back in shape:
“I lost eight or nine kilograms. But it is slowly coming back. All in club have a special plan to prepare me for the season. I need to put the weight back on, which won’t be a problem. I have to be a bit more careful about my food, but the coaches will be there to help.
The doctors don’t even know what kind of virus they have, but they suspect the West Nile virus, because I like fishing and that virus is transmitted by mosquitoes. I like to fish between Baranda and Opovo, because that’s where I have my peace.” – Smailagic said for BC PartizanTV.
When it comes to goals for the next season, Smailagic was brief, but more than clear:
“Surely the teams are stronger. We are stronger because we got more experienced players. We, as a younger players, are more experienced because we had minutes. Partizan also strengthened in various segments. I expect to win and nothing else interests me, and I will fight for the Final Four.”
