Alex Mumbru, the head coach of Valencia, summed up his impressions after an exceptionally interesting EuroLeague clash against Anadolu Efes at La Fonteta.
Valencia managed to achieve their milestone tenth victory in the current EuroLeague campaign, ultimately triumphing with a score of 93:88 and inflicting the fifth consecutive defeat on the visiting team. Alex Mumbru placed special emphasis on the defense in the final quarter, where they succeeded in stifling Anadolu Efes’ offense.
“This was a tough game. We missed a lot of shots early, but we managed to recover and reduce the deficit. In the second quarter, we played better, but in the third quarter, we played our game. The defense was better than in the first half, and we found a way to win. They are a great team, built not only for the Final Four but also for a potential trophy.
During the game, we had a lot of problems with defending their guards, but in the last quarter, we managed to control that, with a focus on defense and thanks to the support of the fans who pushed us to victory, especially in the last minute.”
Anadolu Efes will play against Real Madrid in the next round.
