Alex Mumbru, the head coach of Valencia, spoke to the media after his team’s loss in the 32nd round of the EuroLeague against Maccabi Tel Aviv.
Valencia lost in Belgrade to Maccabi Tel Aviv 95:80. They now have 14 wins and 18 losses, and the battle for the play-in becomes increasingly difficult.
“Congratulations to Maccabi Tel Aviv. We knew it would be a tough game, facing a team in good form. They started the game well, and then we responded well. However, we didn’t maintain our performance, and we weren’t fouling effectively. In the second half, we improved, but a few turnovers and fast breaks made it difficult for us to control the game,” said Alex Mumbru.
Wade Baldwin was the top scorer for home team with 17 points, Josh Nebo contributed 15, while Jasiel Rivero and Antonius Cleveland added 10 each. On the other side, Semi Ojeleye scored 15, Kassius Robertson 13, and Damien Inglis 12 points.
In the next-to-last round, Valencia will host Asvel, while Maccabi Tel Aviv will visit Barcelona.
