The eagerly awaited arrival of Russian basketball sensation Alexey Shved to Crvena Zvezda will not materialize after all. Shved, who is currently a free agent, had fans’ imaginations running wild with his recent social media posts.
The prolific scorer’s contract with Moscow’s CSKA had come to an end, and he was free to choose his next destination. Media reports linked him to Crvena Zvezda, and Shved himself added fuel to the fire with a post hinting at his readiness to join the club.
However, Mozzart Sport has now reported that there will be no transfer, leaving fans with nothing but well wishes for Alexey Shved.

The experienced Russian guard has already turned his attention to other offers, and it remains to be seen where he will continue his career. Earlier rumors also connected him with Olympiacos and even a potential move to China.
Shved experienced an unsuccessful season with CSKA on a team level. The Russian giant fell short of clinching the title, which led to an attack by a group of fans a few months ago, leaving him with serious injuries. However, the 34-year-old player managed to recover and is now diligently preparing for the upcoming season, wherever that may be.
Shved began his illustrious career with CSKA, where he spent six years from 2006 to 2012. Following his stint with the Moscow powerhouse, he ventured into the NBA, playing for Minnesota, Philadelphia, Houston, and New York.
The Russian basketball legend returned to Europe in 2015, donning the jersey of Khimki, where he spent six years and became the face of the club. After a financial crisis at Khimki, he rejoined the ranks of the “Army Men,” where he swiftly assumed crucial roles within the team.
