Alperen Sengun has a clearly defined goal when it comes to his future in the NBA and the Houston Rockets.
The Turkish representative has a really great year behind him. Sengun improved his numbers significantly, averaging 14.8 points, 9.0 rebounds and 3.8 assists while establishing himself as a starter. Clearly, expectations rose considerably after that. Even the center himself points out that his goal is clear, and that he hopes for an All-Star spot.
“Of course, like everyone else, my goal is to become an All-Star. I hope I can do that. A championship has been my dream since I went to the NBA. I think that’s everyone’s dream, as well as Nikola Jokic’s and it took him eight years to be able to win a championship. Now, we have a good dream in the Rockets and I hope we’ll do our best next season and enter the playoffs” – Sengun said for Eurohoops.
Turkey is currently fighting to qualify for the Olympics, and although they are weakened with some withdraws, the Rockets center points out that everyone is full of confidence:
“Everyone has self-confidence because we played the match with the fans in Istanbul. I joined late but I was ready. I worked full-time this season and came ready for the national team. Most of the people on the team are my childhood friends anyway.
There are 7-8 people from Banvit and Besiktas. I adapted quickly to the team. I’m not a difficult player anyway. I always give what the team needs. Like I said, I came ready and I’m playing.“
