Anadolu Efes convincingly defeated Pinar Karsiyaka by 101-85 in a rematch of last year’s Turkish Super League final.
The game began evenly on both sides, with Pinar taking an early lead at 10-4 in the first three minutes. However, the two-time EuroLeague champions reversed the score in this quarter, leading 20-19 over Istanbul’s team before the second quarter. What followed in the second quarter was a masterpiece by Erdem Can’s team.
At one point, it was 26-24 for the team from the Bosporus. Then, Will Clyburn entered the game and strung together a 9-point run that inspired his teammates. Anadolu Efes scored an impressive 32 points in this quarter, totaling over 50 by halftime. Burakcan Yildizli also made a significant impact during this phase of the game, with the only slight setback being Errick McCollum’s three-point shot in the final 4 seconds.
The Anadolu Efes team continued in a similar rhythm in the third quarter, but what was noticeable was that the defense on both sides significantly weakened. In the third quarter, Pinar scored 30 points, while Erdem Can’s team also put up 28 points. The lead extended to a maximum of plus 22, and in the end, Ufuk Sarica’s team reduced the deficit to 15 points.
The pace notably slowed down in the final quarter. The outcome was almost settled, and the EuroLeague team gradually closed out the match. In the end, the final score was 101-85 in favor of the Bosporus team, which helped to somewhat heal their EuroLeague wounds after suffering two losses to Real Madrid and Barcelona, the top European teams.
The standout performer in this game was Rodrigue Beaubois, who finished with 28 points, closely followed by Clyburn with 21 points. On the other side, Vittorio Brown shone with 23 points. Anadolu Efes is looking ahead to a double round in the EuroLeague next week, with matchups against Asvel and Valencia, while they also have a league game against Bahcesehir Koleji. Meanwhile, Pinar will face Turk Telekom.
