Andrew Goudelock spoke in an interview with “Basket News” about various topics, touching on his time with Zeljko Obradovic.
The American worked with the trophy-winning coach at Fenerbahce, where he was the team’s top scorer, but Fenerbahce did not renew his contract. However, one of the best three-point shooters in EuroLeague history doesn’t hold it against him.
“Perhaps that gave Zeljko an excuse or something like that. But I think he had plans for the future with guys like Bogdanovic. I wasn’t part of those plans, and he had already made a decision he believed was best for him and the team. So, I’m not upset with him,” Andrew Goudelock began.
However, he was impressed by Obradovic’s willingness to take responsibility in challenging situations:
“In life in general, Obradović’s approach of hard work every day was something else. He really came to work and put his own a** on the line. When he saw that he wasn’t doing a good job, he would say something like, ‘Maybe I shouldn’t get paid this month'”.
The American player has had a storied career with different teams around the world. Most notably with the Los Angeles Lakers, Unics, Fenerbahce, Maccabi Tel Aviv, Milano and others. He still play today with Kolossos Rhodes.
