Jaylen Brown commented on the Golden State Warriors’ defense after his team’s significant victory in the first game.
It’s the third-largest win in Boston’s NBA history, and we took the opportunity to rest our starters after just two and a half quarters. What’s interesting is that Golden State tried to defend me in a specific way, by allowing me to shoot. Obviously, that didn’t work out too well. After playing for an hour, it seems like they didn’t have a clear plan.
“It’s never personal. I’m sure they thought that’s what their best chance was, or whoever came up with their defensive concept. So, it’s not personal. It was a little disrespectful, to me, but it is what is. I came out and I did what I do best“, Brown said after the game.
Brown responded to a video of Warriors head coach Steve Kerr explaining the team’s strategy, saying that he hopes it happens more often.
Warriors forward Draymond Green told reporters after the game that the team implemented its strategy against Brown “like 15 minutes before we left the locker room.”
