Anthony Davis shared his enduring passion for basketball and the NBA, highlighting the ongoing motivation he finds in the league’s challenges.
During a recent appearance on the ‘Join The Lobby’ podcast, Anthony Davis reminisced about his NBA journey and contemplated his future in the sport. Despite nearing 13 years in the league, he expressed gratitude for the opportunity to continue playing at the highest level, emphasizing his excitement before games and his desire to extend his career for his children’s enjoyment.
“Obviously, I’ve been blessed to play this long, going on year 13. It’s a blessing…I’m about to have 13 years. When this contract is up, I’ll be 17 years in the league… I still love it. I want to play long enough where my sons can enjoy it. My daughter is enjoying it, she’s old enough, I want my sons to be able to enjoy it,” Davis reflected.
He continued, “As long as I keep enjoying the game, keep loving the game, excited to go to work. I still get excited, I’m still nervous before every game like ‘Damn’. I look forward to play all matchups, I look forward to going on the road and being in other arenas and they’re booing you. That still excites me. Running out into Crypto, and everybody… the bright lights still amaze me. As long as that is still there – my passion for the game, and my body, I’m going to keep going till they tell me I can’t.”
