“Michael Jordan couldn’t guard me. I’m not someone who likes comparisons, but I just think that way. I’m nowhere near a player like Michael Jordan, of course, I’ll strive to achieve milestones in my career, but I just believe he couldn’t guard me one-on-one. I want the comparisons to stop; Michael Jordan is Michael Jordan. I’m trying to build my own name,” said Anthony Edwards, taking a subtle jab at LeBron James:
“My goal is to outplay everyone in a one-on-one matchup on the court, especially LeBron James. However, it never happened because when we played against the Los Angeles Lakers, they double-teamed me. He’s been the best player in the NBA for a long time. Still, LeBron has never guarded me one-on-one. I don’t know what my numbers would look like in such a game. Of course, my biggest challenge is to outperform the best, and he is one of the best.”
