Arturs Zagars has once again announced that he will be a significant addition to the Wolves’ team, who triumphed over Mazeikiai with a score of 84-74.
The home team imposed their rhythm from the start, giving them a three-point lead at the end of the first quarter (28-25). By halftime, the Wolves’ lead had grown to eight points, signaling a victory for the Vilnius-based club (45-34).
Mazeikiai put up a better performance in the second half, narrowing the opponent’s lead to just two possessions. The in-form Rasheed Sulaimon took matters into his own hands in the final moments and secured the win for his team.
In addition to the American player (20 points), outstanding performances were also delivered by Arnas Berucka with 16 points and Arturs Zagars with 14 points. Mazeikiai’s top scorer was Andris Misters, who finished the match with 20 points.
The Wolves remain undefeated in the national championship after three rounds (3-0), while Mazeikiai suffered their third consecutive loss.
Lietkabelis defeated the Nevezis team with a score of 100-79, securing their second victory of the new season.
The team from Panevezys was led to victory by Gediminas Orelik with 19 points, while Nikola Popovic scored one point less. Sean McNeil stood out for the visiting team with 24 points.
Lietkabelis is currently fifth in the Lithuanian league standings with a record of 2-1, while Nevezis suffered their third loss of the new season.
