Asvel secured a convincing win on away court against Ada Blois by 98:72 in the 29th round of the LNB Pro A.
As the season approaches its conclusion, Pierric Poupet’s team is showing improved form. Today, they clinched their fourth consecutive win, facing off against the second-to-last team in the French championship, which proved to be no match for them. Ada Blois managed to keep pace only in the first half of the game. Asvel maintained the lead practically throughout the entire first half, although the hosts managed to stay afloat, resulting in a score of 47:43 for Asvel after 20 minutes.
In the second half, only one team dominated the court. The visitors crushed today’s opponents, securing the second half convincingly with a massive +22, which was more than enough for yet another consecutive win.
The standout performers in the winning team were the duo of Youssoupha Fall and Joffrey Lauvergne. The towering center finished the game with 21 points and 10 rebounds, while the former Partizan captain contributed 19 points. On the home team, Milan Barbitch led with 14 points, while Rashard Kelly added 12.
Asvel has found excellent form at just the right time and currently sits in third position in the French league with 21 wins and 8 losses. Their today’s opponent, Ada Blois, is currently in 17th place with a record of 8-21.
Having completed their duties in the EuroLeague, Asvel will now focus solely on the domestic championship for the remainder of the season. In the next round, they will host Paris, in a game that could potentially decide who finishes the season as the runner-up. Ada Blois will be visiting Cholet in the next round.
In the second game of the day, Roanne defeated Cholet by 82:69. The victors were led by Sekou Doumbouya with 33 points, while Kadri Moendadze contributed 17. Tidjane Salaun was the top performer for Cholet with 16 points.
In the final game of the day, Chalon defeated Boulogne by 83:75 on the road. The standout performer for Chalon was Demonte Harper with 23 points, while Ryan Mikesell contributed 21. Matthieu Gauzin led the home team with 17 points.
