Pierric Poupet, the head coach of Asvel, has officially extended his contract with the French club for another two seasons.
Pierric Poupet took over the helm of Asvel from Gianmarco Pozzecco, who didn’t stay long with the Lyon-based club.
Poupet is the third coach to sit on the Asvel bench this season. After T.J. Parker started the season as head coach but was dismissed after a dismal start, an Italian coach took over. Pozzecco didn’t stay long primarily due to differences in opinions with the club management.
Towards the end of the season, Poupet lifted the Asvel team, which is currently in excellent form despite finishing the EuroLeague season as the second-to-last team. They are currently on a four-game winning streak and aim to finish the season in the LNB Pro A on a high note.
