The Atlanta Hawks played another exceptionally high-scoring game, defeating the Washington Wizards with a score of 136:108.
It’s hard to find a team currently playing more efficient basketball than Atlanta in the NBA. In the two games leading up to the clash with the Wizards, the Hawks scored a total of 299 points, and that includes just one overtime period. This wasn’t a fluke, as demonstrated in this match.
Trae Young had a fantastic start to the game, giving his team a four-point lead after the first quarter, in which the visiting team scored 34 points. The similar rhythm continued in the second quarter, with this being a period where the Hawks somewhat stabilized their defense, leading them to a 12-point advantage at halftime.

The decisive moment came in the third quarter, where the Wizards allowed only 20 points to their opponents while scoring 37 themselves. The lead quickly surged to an enormous 29 points, and there was no comeback for Washington. It was an opportunity for both coaches to give chances to the reserves and rest their key players.
Young led the winning team with 26 points and 10 assists, while De’Andre Hunter added 20. Jared Butler, coming off the bench, was the highest scorer for Washington with 13 points.
With this victory, Atlanta climbed to the eighth spot in the NBA Eastern Conference with a record of eight wins and seven losses. On the other hand, Washington remains with only two wins and a staggering 14 losses, holding the 15th position.
