Barcelona defeated Tenerife on their home court by 96:86 in Game 1 of the Liga Endesa quarterfinal series.
Although Barcelona started the game excellently and had a 12-point lead after the first 10 minutes (28:16), the visitors were not ready to give up. They played an outstanding second quarter, particularly on offense, winning that period 30:22. Tenerife continued in a similar rhythm in the third quarter and managed to tie the game at 72:72 towards the end of the last quarter. However, Barcelona played tough defense in the final quarter, winning that part of the game 24-14, and ultimately secured a well-deserved win.
The top scorer for Roger Grimau’s team was Jabari Parker with 23 points, while Alex Abrines added 19. Kyle Guy had another excellent game for Tenerife, scoring 34 points, but it wasn’t enough for his team to secure the win. Marcelinho Huertas contributed 17 points and had 10 assists.
