Barcelona secured their fifth victory of the season in the EuroLeague by defeating Panathinaikos 80-72 in the sixth round.
Barcelona had a strong start to the game, leading 15-7 with solid performance on both ends of the court. Thanks to their three-point shooting and the impressive play of Jerian Grant, the visitors managed to catch up. After the initial ten minutes, the home team had a one-point advantage.
In the second quarter, the home team displayed much better performance. Through excellent defense, Barcelona’s players managed to build a significant lead. They maintained their advantage until the end of the first half, heading into halftime with a 12-point lead.
In the third quarter, a response from Panathinaikos was expected. However, Barcelona continued with significantly better gameplay. As time passed, the home team’s lead grew larger. After the third quarter, the score was 71-47 in favor of Roger Grimau‘s team.
In the last ten minutes, there was no suspense regarding the result. Panathinaikos managed to improve their performance and reduce the gap, but the home team easily finished the job.
Jabari Parker led his team to victory with 17 points, Nikola Kalinic added ten, and Jan Vesely contributed nine points. On the other side, Jerian Grant was the top scorer with 15 points.
Barcelona now has a record of five wins and one loss, and they will face Crvena zvezda in the next game. Panathinaikos has two victories and will try to improve their performance against Alba Berlin.
