Bayern won on the road against Ludwigsburg by 85:80 in the 33rd round of the Bundesliga, securing their 27th win of the season.
Bayern is marching confidently towards the top spot before the start of the playoffs. They have two more wins than their closest pursuers, Alba Berlin and Chemnitz, with the FIBA Europe Cup winner also having played one more game than the teams that have played EuroLeague this season.
Although Bayern won by just five points, Pablo Laso’s team controlled the game from start to finish and secured a comfortable win. Serge Ibaka was the top scorer for the winning team with 20 points, Devin Booker contributed 13, and Vladimir Lucic had 10 points and six rebounds.
In the home team, which suffered its 15th loss but is still in the playoff zone, Jayvon Graves scored 21 points, Jeff Robertson added 18, and Desure Buie contributed 14 points
Alba Berlin secured a comfortable home win against Bonn by 90:69. Sterling Brown led the home team with 22 points, Matt Thomas scored 14, and Martin Hermannsson added 13 points. For Bonn, Harald Frey scored 23 points, and Thomas Kennedy contributed 16.
Chemnitz defeated Braunschweig at home by 82:68 and now have the same number of wins as Alba Berlin, but one more game played. Ousman Krubally led the winners with 18 points, while Barra Njie was the top scorer for Braunschweig with 15 points.
Crailsheim secured a road win against Rostock by 85:70, and Wurzburg defeated Heidelberg at home 98:84.
