Bayern Munich started the new EuroLeague season with a home victory against their rivals from Berlin, Alba, whom they defeated with a score of 80-68.
Bayern, led by their new coach Pablo Laso, began the EuroLeague season with a home triumph against Alba. The key to their victory was their improved performance in the second half, particularly the third quarter where the visitors scored only seven points.
The home team was led to victory by Sylvain Francisco, who scored 17 points, and Isaac Bonga, who had 11 points and 10 rebounds. On the other side, Louis Olinde and Johannes Thieman each scored 12 points.
The first quarter saw a closely contested game, but in the second quarter, the team of Israel Gonzalez played much better. The home team was caught off guard, and by halftime, Alba had taken the lead, going into the break with a score of 44-36.
In the second half, especially in the third quarter, it seemed like a new Bayern had emerged. It’s clear that Pablo Laso’s suggestions had an impact. The home team notably improved its defense and then found success on the offensive end. Frenchman Sylvain Francisco was unstoppable, and going into the final quarter, Bayern had a lead of 61-51.
They carried the momentum from their strong performance in the third quarter into the fourth and secured the victory.
