At the start of the game, Bahcesehir took a double-digit lead, 16:6. However, as the first quarter progressed, Besiktas found a way to level the score completely. After ten minutes of play, the visitors led 27:26. The continuation of the game offered several lead changes. Although Coach Alimpijevic’s team took the lead several times, the opponents were notably better, leading by 11 points at halftime.
The crucial period of the match occurred in the third quarter, which Besiktas dominated with a score of 35:20. During those ten minutes, they made 12 out of 15 field goal attempts. As a result, they entered the final period with a 79:75 lead. They allowed the opponents to make another comeback, but in the thrilling ending, they secured an important victory.
Jonah Mathews led Besiktas with his best performance since joining the Turkish team, scoring 26 points and providing four assists. Derek Needham contributed with 14 points. On the losing side, Tyler Cavanaugh stood out with 19 points.
It’s worth mentioning that Galatasaray, coached by Zvezdan Mitrovic, suffered a defeat against Pinar Karsiyaka with a score of 98:76 in one of the worst performances of the season so far.
