Besiktas, Bodrum, and Turk Telekom secured wins in the fourth round of the Turkish Super League.
Besiktas, led by Serbian coach Dusan Alimpijevic, did not hold back against Merkezefendi. The black and white team triumphed with a score of 79-58, thus recovering from their previous loss to Bursa.
Alimpijevic’s team made it clear from the very beginning that their opponents wouldn’t have a pleasant time on the road. They won the first quarter with a score of 28-16, setting the course for the rest of the game and leading Besiktas to a convincing win.
The most deserving for this were Matt Mitchell with 15 points and Berkan Durmaz and Samet Yigitoglu with 11 points each. The guests were led by Daniel Oturu with 21 points and 11 rebounds.
Besiktas now holds a 2-2 record, while Merkezefendi has suffered four defeats.
The second Serbian coach, Nenad Canak, did not have the same success. The former Partizan coach was defeated with Turk Telekom by Pinar Karsiyaka with a score of 100-80, in one of the toughest away games.
Duverioglu Dominates
The team from Izmir once again demonstrated why they are a formidable home team. They sealed the game in the second quarter with a 33-12 run, after which there was no way back for Canak’s team.
The standout players for the winners were Vitto Brown and Carey Vernon, both with 20 points. In the losing team, Tyrone Wallace stood out with 20 points.
Both teams are at a 2-2 record after this game.
In the first game of the day, Bodrum defeated Darussafaka with a score of 89-73, with an outstanding performance from Ahmet Duverioglu, who finished the game with 23 points and 11 rebounds. He was well-supported by Chris Warren with 22 points.
This marked Bodrum’s first victory in the championship, while Darussafaka has a 2-2 record.
