Borac Cacak secured its third win of the season. In the seventh round of the ABA League, Dejan Mijatovic’s team defeated Studentski centar 87-76.
Studentski centar had a great start to the game, leading 18-9 with better play on both ends of the court. At one point, Podgorica had a double-digit lead. Towards the end of the first quarter, Borac came back into the game, closing the gap to four points.
The second quarter saw a lot of tension on both sides. Due to unsportsmanlike and technical fouls, Danilo Tasic was ejected. However, even without one player, the home team made a comeback and took a 37-36 lead. The team from Podgorica played better in the closing moments of the first half and went into halftime with a one-point advantage.
In the continuation of the match, the home team played much better. Podgorica lost the ball frequently, and Borac took advantage, making a comeback. With a better performance in the closing moments of the third quarter, Borac took an 11-point lead.
Studentski centar didn’t give up. They tried to catch up in the last ten minutes. However, Borac had a ready answer to all their attempts. They finished the job with ease, breaking a four-game losing streak.
Ronaldo Segu led his team to win with 17 points, while Kenan Kamenjas was the best for Studentski centar with 16 points and 20 rebounds. Mateo Dreznjak also scored 16 points for the visitors.
Borac now has three wins and four losses and will host FMP in the eighth round. Studentski Centar has one more win and will face Cibona in the next round.
