The Boston Celtics defeated the Indiana Pacers at TD Garden by 126:110, taking a 2-0 lead in the Eastern Conference Finals.
Andrew Nembhard played an excellent first quarter and was the main reason the Indiana Pacers had the lead after the first 12 minutes of the game. On the other side, Jaylen Brown delivered a fantastic performance, but it simply wasn’t enough for the Boston Celtics to make a comeback (27:25).
The unstoppable Brown started the second quarter with a personal 17:0 run, giving the Boston Celtics a 15-point lead (42:27). On the other side, Pascal Siakam played well, managing to bring the Pacers back to a single-digit deficit by halftime (57:51).
Where Brown left off in the second period, Derrick White picked up in the third. The Indiana Pacers were much weaker defensively, which the opponents capitalized on, gaining a 13-point lead before the crucial final 12 minutes at TD Garden. By the end of the game, the home team played better, easily defeating the Indiana Pacers and taking a 2-0 lead in the series.
The most effective player for the Boston Celtics was Jaylen Brown with 37 points, while Pascal Siakam stood out on the other side with 28 points.
The Boston Celtics now lead the series 2-0, with the third game scheduled for May 26th, where Indiana will host. The fourth game will be played two days later, on May 28th.
The winner of the Eastern Conference Finals will face the winner of the Minnesota Timberwolves – Dallas Mavericks series in the finals.
