The Boston Celtics defeated the Dallas Mavericks on their home court by 105:98 in Game 2 of the NBA Finals series, taking a 2-0 lead.
Despite his status being questionable before the game, Luka Doncic achieved a triple-double, recording 32 points, 11 rebounds, and 11 assists. However, once again, the lack of support from his teammates prevented them from breaking through at the “TD Garden.”
Unlike the first finals game, the Boston Celtics couldn’t establish a significant lead in the first half. The visitors from Texas won the first quarter 28:25, but by halftime, the advantage had shifted to the home team, 54:51.
The third quarter was likely crucial to the outcome of this game, as the Celtics managed to go up by 13 points midway through this period (80:67). Although the Mavericks kept fighting until the end, trying to mount a comeback, Joe Mazzulla’s team always had an answer and, riding on the wings of an excellent Jrue Holiday, managed to secure a significant lead in the series.
The 2021 champion with the Milwaukee Bucks was the best player for the home team, scoring 26 points and grabbing 11 rebounds, shooting 11/14 from the field. Once again, Jaylen Brown played a solid game, doing everything on the court and finishing with 21 points, seven assists, four rebounds, and three steals. Jayson Tatum focused on setting up his teammates, adding 18 points, 12 assists, and nine rebounds.
Jrue Holiday's complete performance in Game 2 was crucial in the Celtics taking a 2-0 series lead!

In addition to the Slovenian representative’s triple-double, P.J. Washington added 17 points but struggled with his three-point shooting (1/5), while Kyrie Irving once again played below his standards. He scored 16 points but was a modest 7/18 from the field.
Game 3 of the series will be played in the night between Wednesday and Thursday, starting at 2:30 AM, with the Dallas Mavericks hosting this time.
