Former Milwaukee Bucks player, Jrue Holiday, is set to remain in the Eastern Conference, but he will be wearing the Boston Celtics jersey next season, according to Adrian Wojnarowski.
Just a few days after Holiday ended up in Portland as part of the Bucks’ package for Damian Lillard, the 33-year-old player has been traded once again, this time to the Boston Celtics.
The Eastern Conference finalists from last season traded Robert Williams III, Malcolm Brogdon, and first-round picks for 2024 and 2029 to Portland in exchange for Holiday.
After being eliminated by the eighth-seeded Miami Heat in the Eastern Conference Finals last spring, the most decorated NBA franchise has undergone a mini overhaul in their lineup.
Kristaps Porzingis was acquired in a trade for Marcus Smart, and James Nnaji arrived from the Detroit Pistons, but was swiftly sent to the Charlotte Hornets in exchange for Colby Jones and Mouhamed Gueye. Jones, in turn, was used as part of the deal to bring in Jordan Walsh from the Sacramento Kings, while Gueye was traded to the Atlanta Hawks for a second-round pick.
All of these moves are not in the same league as what Jrue Holiday, one of the heroes of Milwaukee’s championship run in 2021, will bring to the ‘Garden.’
With this addition, the Celtics’ starting lineup for the upcoming season could shape up like this: Jrue Holiday, Jaylen Brown, Derrick White, Jayson Tatum, Kristaps Porzingis.
