Cremona defeated Brescia by 84:77 on away court in the 26th round of the Serie A, securing their 12th win of the season.
Cremona, currently 12th in the standings, has thus done a favor to Milano and Virtus, who, if they win on Sunday, can equalize at the top of the table with Brescia.
Cremona led from start to finish. They didn’t have a huge lead, but they maintained a consistent advantage of around 10 points throughout the game. Heading into the final quarter, they were up 67:60. The guests managed to close the gap to 78:74 three minutes before the end, but they didn’t have the strength to turn the game around and suffered their eighth loss of the season.
Paul Eboua led the winners with 21 points and 10 rebounds, Andrea Pecchia scored 16, and Wayne McCullough contributed 14 points. On the other side, Kenny Gabriel was the best with 17 points, followed by Amedeo Della Valle with 16, and Miro Bilan, the Croatian player, who had 12 points, seven rebounds, and six assists.
Tortona secured a home win against Pesaro by 94:76. Tommaso Baldasso led the winners with 23 points, Retin Obasohan contributed 14 points, and Chris Dowe added 13 points.
In the Pesaro team, Markis McDuffie was the top scorer with 22 points, while the veteran Andrea Cinciarini, aged 37, scored 14 points.
