Buducnost secured a solid win over Krka by 86:75 in an away game in Novo Mesto in the ABA League Round 16th.
Buducnost determined the outcome of the match in the first half. The players from the capital of Montenegro performed excellently, especially in the second quarter, giving them a lead of 56:38 at halftime.
In the second half, they maintained their advantage with ease and clinched another win. Leading the way were Brandon Paul with 20 points, Kenan Kamenjas with 17 points and 11 rebounds, and Vladimir Mihailovic contributing 16 points. For the home team, Jairus Hamilton scored 15, Miha Cerkvenik 13, and Darko Planinic added 11 points.
Krka was a worthy opponent for Buducnost in the first quarter, leading for the majority of the period. Although their largest lead was only four points, towards the end, Buducnost stepped up the pace, played better defense, and finished the first quarter with a lead of 25:23.
The second quarter was a furious display by Andrej Zakelj’s team. In the last five minutes, they went on a 23:7 run. Brandon Paul initiated the surge with two three-pointers, and the visitors did significant damage by halftime.
The home team started the second half strongly with a 7:0 run, closing the gap to 56:44, prompting the Buducnost coach to call a timeout. His players responded well, regaining control with a 63:46 lead. This marked the last surge from the home team. In the third quarter, Buducnost extended their lead to over 20 points, setting the stage for the final 10 minutes.
In the last quarter, Buducnost eased off a bit, and despite the home team’s efforts to overturn the result, the lead established by the visitors in the previous three quarters proved insurmountable, securing Buducnost’s 11th win.
