In the ABA League Round 18, Buducnost easily defeated Mega at the “Ranko Zeravica” arena with a score of 92-72.
Marko Barac’s team started the game better, mostly holding the advantage during the first 10 minutes. Buducnost managed to narrow the gap at times, but the home team finished the first quarter better and went into a small break with a lead of half a point – 20:19.
The collapse of the home team began from the first minute of the second quarter when Buducnost went on a 15-0 run, establishing a substantial lead of 14 points (34:20). Mega found some offensive rhythm in the continuation, but it wasn’t enough to reduce the significant deficit by halftime – 50:34.
Mega hinted at a comeback through two mini-runs in the third quarter, but Andrej Zakelj’s players were simply in a position to control the situation on the court. The 16-point lead that Buducnost held clearly indicated the direction of the fourth quarter.
Barac’s team quickly ran out of steam, allowing the visitors to increase the lead to an officially unreachable plus 24 (80:56). The only remaining question was the final score, as the blue-and-white had long secured a crucial triumph in Belgrade.
