Buducnost suffered their third loss in the EuroCup. In the fifth round, they were defeated by Bourg by 78:73.
The home team had a better start and led 5:2. With an 11:3 run, Podgorica’s team managed to turn the tide and take a five-point lead. The first quarter ended with the guests holding a 21:15 lead.
Bourg attempted to stage a comeback in the second quarter, but Buducnost successfully fended off their advances. Team from Podgorica had an eight-point lead on two occasions. After 20 minutes of play, they were in front with a score of 43:38.
The second half saw Bourg opening much better. With a 15:4 run, the home team staged a comeback, taking a six-point lead. At one point, the French team had a seven-point advantage, but Buducnost narrowed the gap to three points at the end of the third quarter.
The final ten minutes featured a fierce battle. Buducnost attempted a complete turnaround, but Bourg repelled their advances. The home team managed to bring the match to a close and secure the victory.
Zacchare Risacher led his team to victory with 21 points, while Brandon Paul was the top scorer on the other side with 16 points. In the next round, Bourg will be on the road to face Lietkabelis, while Podgorica’s team will host Aris.
Ulm managed to secure a hard-fought win against Slask Wroclaw by 108:103. Despite being considered a significant favorite against a team that had yet to win a game in the EuroCup, Ulm only clinched the win after overtime.
The top scorer for the winning team was Karim Jallow with 23 points, while Trevion Williams had an excellent performance with 16 points, 11 rebounds, and 7 assists.
In the losing team, Lukasz Kolenda stood out the most with 29 points, and Dusan Miletic followed closely with 17 points.
Ulm now has a record of 4-1, while Slask has yet to secure a victory. In the next round, the German team will be on the road to face Cluj Napoca, while Slask will be looking for their first win in a game against Trento.
In the last game of the day, one of the two undefeated teams in the EuroCup, Gran Canaria, hosted Lietkabelis, and they secured a comfortable win by 88:77.
The Lithuanian team changed their coach after a poor start in the EuroCup, and they will once again be led by Nenad Canak from the sidelines following an unsuccessful stint at Turk Telekom.
The Spanish team, considered one of the main favorites alongside Paris to win the EuroCup, maintained a lead from the beginning to the end of the game. They were led to victory by Miquel Salvo with 15 points, while Nicolas Brussino and Ethan Happ each contributed 13 points.
In the losing team, the top performers were Paulius Valinskas and Martynas Varnas, each scoring 17 points.
Gran Canaria has improved their record to 5-0, while Lietkabelis remains with just one win. In the next round, the Spanish team will play as visitors against Turk Telekom, while Lietkabelis will host Bourg.
