C.J. McCollum, a player for the New Orleans Pelicans, will be out of action for some time after being diagnosed with pneumothorax during his latest examination.
The presence of air in the right pleural cavity was noticed during a check-up on Sunday. Additional medical tests will be conducted over the next two days to determine C.J. McCollum condition and whether there is any progress in the treatment.
This is the second time that C.J. McCollum has experienced a collapsed lung. He missed 17 games two seasons ago due to this issue. His recovery back then took a little over a month, so it remains to be seen whether this will be the case again.
In the current NBA season, C.J. McCollum is averaging 21.7 points, 4.8 rebounds, and 5.7 assists. His team has secured four wins and two losses after six games played.
