Canada secured their second win at the FIBA World Cup by defeating the Lebanon in the second round of Group H with a score of 128-73.
Lebanon took an early 4-0 lead at the beginning of the match. However, Canada quickly took control of the game and established an 18-point lead by the end of the first quarter. By halftime, the outcome of the match was practically decided, as the Canadians had built a 36-point lead.
In the second half, Canada didn’t let up. Despite their substantial lead, they remained focused and determined. Their advantage continued to grow, and they ultimately dominated Lebanon.
RJ Barrett finished the game with 17 points, Trae Bell-Haynes added 15, and Melvin Ejim contributed 13 points. On the other side, Omari Spellman was the top scorer for Lebanon with 16 points, while Karim Zeinoun ended the game with 15 points.
In the final round of Group H, Canada will face Latvia on August 29th. Lebanon will conclude the first phase by playing against France.
