Cedevita Olimpija secured its 13th win in the ABA League by defeating Borac Cacak on the road with a score of 74-65.
Ljubljana’s team had a strong start, taking an 8-0 lead at the beginning of the match and, at one point, enjoying a nine-point advantage. In the closing moments of the first quarter, the home team found a good offensive rhythm, narrowing the lead to 21-16.
Borac Cacak continued with improved performance in the second period, making a strong comeback through solid defense. They even took the lead at one point, reaching 32-30. However, with a 9-0 run in the final minutes of the first half, Ljubljana’s team went into halftime with a seven-point lead.
During the third quarter, the game unfolded in series as Borac Cacak consistently tried to stage a comeback. However, the guests maintained their lead, reaching a nine-point advantage at one point. After 30 minutes of play, they were in front 52-48.
At the beginning of the final quarter, Ljubljana’s team extended their lead to eight points. The resilient Cacak side didn’t give up, managing to get back into the game. Darko Talic’s three-pointer reduced the deficit to 65-63. With seven consecutive points, Cedevita Olimpija thwarted the opponent’s surge and comfortably sealed the win.
Karlo Matkovic led his team to success with 19 points, while on the other side, Javon Franklin contributed 15.
This marks the 13th win for Ljubljana in the season, with six losses. Their next opponent will be FMP. On the other hand, Cacak suffered their 11th defeat and will look to bounce back against Studentski centar.
