Chus Mateo, the head coach of Real Madrid, has extended his contract with the club for two more seasons, it has been officially confirmed.
Real Madrid had a very successful season, having won all three domestic trophies and reaching the EuroLeague final. They were just one half away from a perfect season, but Panathinaikos overpowered them in that half, becoming the European champion.

In two seasons at Real Madrid, Chus Mateo has won the EuroLeague, Endesa League, Copa del Rey, and the Spanish Supercup twice. Additionally, last season he was named the best coach of the EuroLeague.
Real Madrid has already made significant moves in the transfer window, having secured contract extensions with Mario Hezonja and Walter Tavares, while also bringing in Andres Feliz from Joventut.
Regarding departures, Vincent Poirier has joined Anadolu Efes, Carlos Alocen has gone to Gran Canaria, while Sergio Rodriguez and Rudy Fernandez have retired. Sergio Llull and Fabien Causeur are currently without contracts, and their futures remain uncertain.
