Crvena Zvezda secured the title with a road win over Partizan, winning 82:76 and completing a 3-0 sweep in the ABA League finals series.
James Nunnally, Balsa Koprivica, and Ognjen Jaramaz were unavailable for the home team, while due to injury, Adam Hanga, Stefan Lazarevic, and Nikola Topic didn’t play for the visitors.
Right from the start, Crvena Zvezda played better and controlled the game. Partizan couldn’t take the lead, and nerves were their biggest enemy in the opening minutes. Although the “black and white steamroller” picked up in the second half, it was still the visiting team that went into halftime with a favorable score – 42:38.
Although Partizan started the third quarter better, even taking the lead after a three-pointer by Aleksa Avramovic, Crvena Zvezda managed to control the opponent’s surge and responded with an 8:0 run to regain a more comfortable lead. After that, the “black and whites” couldn’t make a comeback, resulting in the trophy going to the red and whites.
The top scorers for the winners were Luka Mitrovic and Rokas Giedraitis, each with 12 points, while Danilo Andjusic led the home team with 13.
With this title, Crvena Zvezda also secured a spot in the EuroLeague for the next season.
