Crvena Zvezda has officially announced on the clubs website that they said goodbye to three of their players.
The players in question are Adam Hanga, Trey Thompkins, and Javonte Smart. The Hungarian international has expressed his desire to stay in the red-and-white jersey for the next season multiple times, but that will not happen. As of today, he is free to choose a new team.
His season was full of ups and downs, and he missed the final part due to a broken finger on his left hand. Joventut is mentioned as a potential team interested in signing the experienced Hungarian.
Trey Thompkins also wanted to stay, but the two sides couldn’t reach an agreement. The American player arrived earlier this year from Zenit. His debut was delayed, but he made a significant contribution, especially in the ABA League finals.
Javonte Smart also joined at the beginning of the year, coming from the NBA G League. He didn’t get much playing time in the red-and-white jersey, especially towards the end of the season.
Crvena Zvezda recently parted ways with Mike Tobey, Freddie Gillespie, and Marko Simonovic. On the other hand, the club welcomed Uros Plavsic, Isaiah Canaan, Mike Daum, and Nikola Kalinic. The team extended contracts with Milos Teodosic, Joel Bolomboy, Branko Lazic, Yago dos Santos, and Rokas Giedraitis.
